We’ll also share the outcome of a recent project that transformed a significantly outdated bathroom into a personal retreat with a clean, coastal-inspired aesthetic.

Embracing these trends, CVG Architects recently renovated a client’s bathroom, transforming a dark, outdated space into a light and contemporary oasis with an updated coastal feel. We introduced new horizontal wood slat-board wall paneling, adding elegance while mirroring the shingle style of the home’s exterior for a cohesive, light, and beachy feel. Stained white oak wall panels and beams were introduced to lend to a spa aesthetic. The floor features large-format tiles with a unique leather-like finish, adding a tactile element that contrasts beautifully with the wooden accents. A faux wood-patterned porcelain tile enhances the steam shower’s natural warmth, while brass fixtures complement the neutral color scheme.
To maximize natural light, we placed a large, rectangular window high on the shower wall, ensuring privacy while bringing daylight in to enrich the showering experience. A large freestanding white tub on the backdrop of a honey-colored-Oak-stained wall is the centerpiece of the room, inviting relaxation. Generous his-and-hers vanities provide ample space for personal routines, along with an additional sit-down vanity area featuring a decorative leather-strap-hung brass mirror lending to the coastal aesthetic. Every element of this design was conceived to convey modern luxury and create a personalized environment of serenity for its owners.
